Monday
9 am – 10 am
Use LinkedIn, Facebook, etc., to add new people to the networking list.
10 am – 12noon
Send personal contact cover letters to 5-10 new people using the networking list. Follow up by phone with contacts who previously were sent a personal contact cover letter and resume.
12 pm – 1 pm
Lunch and take a walk.
1 pm – 2 pm
Research companies of interest on LinkedIn to find people I know who work at those companies. Add these people to my networking list.
2 pm – 3 pm
Contact the employers of interest to get the names of the people in charge of hiring. Send five direct employer contact letters and resumes. Follow up by phone with previously sent letters.
3 pm – 4 pm
Exercise – choose from walking, biking, walking, or going to the fitness center.
4 pm – 5 pm
Research and respond to advertised jobs on the Internet. Check email for new “job alerts” that I have set up on various job posting websites. Apply to jobs of interest.
5 pm – 5:15 pm
Set specific goals for the next day.
